Why we love Luge & Gondola Queenstown
What better way to see Queenstown, than on a spectacular gondola ride? Relax and soak in the amazing views as you journey up the peak. Then when you’re ready for a bit more of a thrill, you can luge back down the mountain. This activity is great as it is the best of both worlds with both a relaxing and thrilling component.
About the activity
Your relaxing gondola ride will take you up Bob’s Peak, where you can luge right back down again once you’ve finished taking in the remarkable views. The gondola, the steepest cable car lift in the Southern Hemisphere, will carry you 450 metres above Queenstown. Enjoy 220 degree panoramic views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Queenstown. Once you reach the top you can stop for a spot of lunch in the Stratosfare restaurant before luging back down. The luge has two tracks to choose from, blue which is a little tamer and the red track which is full of banked corners, tunnels and has a steeper gradient. Don’t worry if you miss anything the first time as luge passes come with multiple rides so you can do all the luge tracks and see everything Queenstown has to offer.
